Eavestroughs
Proper Eavestrough Systems have several components including;
Eavestroughs, Downspouts, Soffits, Fascia and Leaf Guard Systems.
Eavestroughs are a very important component in roofing systems. They act as a channel that collects water and melted snow and ice and disperses it to the downspouts, safely carrying the water away from the home, protecting the roof from moisture and preventing the yard from flooding.
They also enhance the appearance of the home; adding modern function and curb appeal.
A properly functioning Eavestrough/Gutter system can aid in the air circulation of the attic and roof and prevent the unwanted intrusion of animals. Without proper attic ventilation/water drainage, it can lead to unwanted build up of moisture and damage to the roof or attic space.
Pitch Perfect uses heavy gauge, seamless, hook and screw Eavestrough systems.
What are Soffits and Fascia?
Soffits are located on the underside of the Eavestroughs where the roof overhangs the exterior walls of a home or commercial building.
Fully vented soffits are used to manage and evenly distribute air flow to the rafters, reducing moisture to ensure the roof and attic spaces remain dry and minimising the chances of mould.
Fascia is the exposed horizontal decorative board you see at the end of the rafters. It provides a capped/finished look and is located behind the Eavestroughs.
A combination of soffit and fascia is needed to provide proper ventilation and aesthetic appeal to your home.
Do I Need Leaf Guards?
- Prevents clogging of the eaves/gutters by leaves and debris which can cause the water to back up and overflow and seep into the roof or into the foundation
- They protect against damage to eaves from expansion of ice within eavestroughs by keeping the ice on top of the product.
Pitch Perfect installs the T-Rex system from Alu-rex which is a closed, seamless eavestrough with continuous hangers which reinforces your eavestroughs from end to end.
Alu-rex is also available to be retrofitted to existing eavestroughs if applicable and offers protection against clogging and water overflow.
A poorly sloped or damaged eavestrough can wreak havoc on your home and cause many water intrusion/moisture issues.
